I am a very cheesy person and there are very few cheeses that I don’t like. My favourite group of cheeses are the soft types with white mold. Camembert is one of the best known and popular of a kind. The only disadvantage of this cheese is that you don’t want to keep it in the fridge for long time (like more than a day is already long enough). Yes, it’s a bit smelly but personally it bothers me only when I am not eating it. Here I would like to share with you my favourite way of enjoying Camembert. Baked. Yes, I really love baking. Everything =) So, open your favourite bottle of red or put your preferable white in the fridge and let the party started. But first switch on the oven.
Baked Camembert
Ingredients:
- Camembert in a wooden box
- Garlic, 2-3 cloves
- Rosemary, 2-3 sprigs
- Extra virgin olive oil, a little to drizzle
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C
- Take out the cheese of the box, remove all plastic packaging and put the cheese back. You won’t need the lid.
- Make some cuts on the surface of the cheese and stick garlic pieces and rosemary little sprigs in the cuts.
- Drizzle some olive oil on top and bake it for about 10 min.
- You can eat it with crispbreads, shortbreads or simply toast some bread rubbed with garlic.
Note. You do not necessarily need to use the foil as I did, the cheese rind holds the liquid inside quite well. As to the greens, you can use thyme or sage as well.
